How Do You Calculate the Amount of Melt Glue of an Injection Molding Machine?

Table of Content [Hide]

The following factors need to be considered in calculating the melt volume of the injection molding machine:

The injection volume (shot volume) of the machine for custom plastic injection molding. Injection volume refers to the volume of molten plastic that the injection molding machine can inject into the mold for each injection. Usually expressed in units of grams or milliliters.

    Shot Volume

The density of the CNC plastic material. Different plastic materials have different densities, and the denser the plastic, the heavier it will be under the same volume. Depending on the density of the plastic material used, the shot volume of the injection molding machine can be converted into a corresponding weight.

The weight of the plastic product. Based on the weight of the plastic product to be produced, the total amount of molten plastic that needs to be injected into the mold can be calculated.

Therefore, the melt volume of the injection molding machine can be calculated according to the following formula:

    Injection Molding Machine

Melt volume = weight of plastic product ÷ density of plastic material

Among them, the density of the plastic material can be found in the technical data of the material, and the weight of the plastic product can be calculated according to the design requirements. In the actual production process, some losses and margins also need to be considered to ensure production quality and efficiency.
